FAQ

Roofing questions, answered plainly

Everything New Braunfels homeowners ask us before they hire a roofer — licensing, deposits, permits, warranties, insurance, timelines.

Are you licensed?

Texas doesn't license roofers — there is no state roofing license to have. What you should ask any roofer for is a certificate of general liability insurance, workers' compensation coverage, a local address and phone number, and references from your county. We provide all four before any work starts.

Do you charge for inspections?

Free after any named storm or when we're already quoting work; $150 to $250 for a standalone inspection with a written photo report, which most people want for a sale or an insurance letter.

How soon can you come out?

Inspections within two days in New Braunfels, usually the same or next day after a storm. Emergency tarps the same day. Replacements are typically scheduled one to two weeks out, faster on a claim deadline.

Do you pull the permit?

Yes, on every re-roof in a city that requires one — New Braunfels, Seguin, Bulverde, Schertz, Cibolo, Garden Ridge. Unincorporated Comal County (Canyon Lake, Spring Branch) doesn't issue roofing permits; we document the work to the same standard.

What do you require as a deposit?

Nothing until you've approved a written, itemized price. Then no more than a third at scheduling, the balance when the roof is done and inspected. On insurance claims, the ACV check plus your deductible at the start and the depreciation at completion.

Can you waive my deductible?

No — it's a crime in Texas since 2019, and the insurer can withhold your depreciation until you prove you paid it. See our deductible law guide.

What warranty do you offer?

Manufacturer material warranty on the shingles or panels (lifetime limited on architectural lines, 30–40 years on Kynar metal finishes), plus our workmanship warranty in writing: five years on replacements, one year on repairs.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, through a third-party lender with approval in minutes, for replacements, deductibles and upgrades. Details on the insurance & financing page.

How long does a replacement take?

One day for most houses, two for large, steep or tile roofs, three to five for standing-seam metal.

Will you protect my landscaping and pool?

Tarps over beds and the pool, plywood over AC units and delicate areas, a magnetic nail sweep of the yard and driveway at the end of every day.

What happens to the old roof?

Loaded into a dump trailer in the driveway — on plywood so it doesn't mark the concrete — and taken to the landfill or a shingle recycler. Nothing is left in your yard.

Do you work with HOAs?

Yes. We prepare and submit the architectural packet for Vintage Oaks, Veramendi, Mystic Shores, Johnson Ranch and the rest, and we know which colors and materials each one has been approving.

Do you repair roofs or only replace them?

Both. Roughly half our work is repair — boots, flashing, valleys, wind damage — and we'll tell you honestly when a repair is the right call and when it's throwing money at a roof that's done.

Do you do metal and tile as well as shingles?

Yes: standing-seam and R-panel metal, clay and concrete tile repair and re-lays, and flat TPO and mod-bit on commercial buildings.

Is the phone really answered 24/7?

Yes. A person answers at any hour, every day. If water is coming in, say so and the emergency crew moves.
